Abstract:
Digital technology empowers inclusive finance and allows financial services to benefit more low-income populations. However, whether digital inclusive finance has a better relative poverty alleviation effect still needs in-depth research.Based on the panel data of 31 provinces from 2011 to 2020,this paper empirically tests the mitigation effects of traditional and digital financial inclusion in my country on relative poverty, and further explores regional heterogeneity. The conclusions show that digital financial inclusion can alleviate relative poverty, and its poverty reduction effect is greater than that of traditional financial inclusion;moreover, the coordinated development of traditional financial inclusion and digital financial inclusion can significantly reduce the degree of relative poverty.Further mechanism test found that digital inclusive finance mainly promotes relative poverty alleviation by narrowing the urban rural income gap and reducing the digital divide among residents. Based on the above conclusions, policy suggestions are put forward to promote the development of digital Inclusive Finance on the basis of improving the supply and service capacity of traditional Inclusive Finance, improve the development level of digital Inclusive Finance according to the actual situation,〖JP2〗and give full play to the income distribution effect of digital Inclusive Finance in poverty reduction.
